Buying a New Car With Bad Credit and High Income?

Sexy_Raquel asked:

I’m currently making excellent money at my job and have no debt to my name. However, this wasn’t my situation in the past and I managed to get behind on my bills and really hurt my credit. My credit did raise a little after paying off my bills, yet it’s still lower than I’d like. I am trying to buy a new car sometime soon and I can’t help but wonder… what is the likelihood I can be approved for my loan with a down payment that is 1/3 of the car price and with a high income… or is my credit going to be a dealbreaker?! Thanks!
I know the interest will probably be huge if I can get approved but I plan on paying it off QUICK!

Do I have to wait until my bankruptcy is discharged to start rebuilding my credit, or just filed?

Christie S asked:

I was told my bankruptcy was filed this morning and I would like to start rebuilding my credit as soon as possible. All the tips I have read refer to what to do after you file bankruptcy but they don’t say if I need to wait the 2-3 months it will take to be discharged before I can apply for credit.

SMART loan vs 30 year conventional?

Dave and Emily A asked:

I just had a Primerica representative come over to my house and show me a solution for a SMART loan. Rates are once again at historic lows once again and their rate was quite a bit higher. But the loan gets me out of debt in 20 years and pays off all my credit cards. I’ve already applied to get a mortgage at my bank, but I like what Primerica has to offer. Any thoughts?

Does anyone know the best company to use for debt counseling and credit card consolidation?

I am looking for a good company to help us negotiate the rates on our cards that we used to start our business. And to hear from personal experience if this is a good way to go.

Should myself wife help our daughter husband out financially?

Free at last asked:

Back Ground: She is 25 years old and got married two years ago. We put her through school paid 100% of their wedding and even gave them as a wedding present of 2 weeks in Hawaii for a wedding present. I like her husband kinda he always has a few smart things to say to us…on their wedding night he told me (while driving to them to the airport) that he wouldn’t be making the mistakes I made in life…I still don’t know what mistakes he is talking about to this day. But over all we have a good relationship with the both of them…and I love my daughter very, very, much!

The Problem:

They both work, my daughter in the medical field…but 5 Months ago her husband got a DUI and can’t work in his chosen field and has been forced to take a very low-paying job part-time (25-30 hrs a week). In reality their income has been cut by 60%.

Their Situation: They are expecting a baby in January ‘09, they came over last night and laid-out the situation. They are 3 Months behind on the house payment, 19K in credit card debt and getting deeper every Month, electric, phone, water all are past due, two car payments that are two months behind….around $1200 to bring them up to date.

Possible solutions:

(A) Ignore them and say………good luck kids!

(B) Make them a loan of $35K with a strick re-payment plan.

(C) Just give them the $35K-$40K and say….we love you and God Bless!

What would you vote for A, B or plan C

(Note:) My wife is 100% in favor of just giving them whatever they need to take the heat off of them….and NO pay-back. I’m on the fence, I’m am leaning torward just giving them the money.

We can very easily afford this….we wouldn’t even feel or miss the 40K that is not an issue.

thanks for your advice

Will Obama fix the problem or treat a symptom?

Flowers asked:

In the last 15 years imports have roase 1500% while exports dropped 11000%.The credit debt of Americans has increased along the same lines as there are fewer dollars from GDP going to workers. This meant consumption went up and industry went down. This could be compared to a poor man with baloon loan except it was the retail buisness buying jets and outsourcing customers at the same time.

When you send more then half of your growth to another country it baloons faster then a bad loan. When it fills to much with inflation and credit debt it pops. Then you have no industry, the retailer have a smaller cutomer base, and the banks have more debt then equity.

The only solution that works is to rebuild what every enemy in the world fears American industry and are workers so much better that when even threaten it the crooks around the world scream in fear.

We need to tax non American made goods in stores to make the consumer not want to buy them.

Brand new car with bad credit? How?

AnnabellActress asked:

I am a single female (25), and live on my own. I currently drive a ‘98 chevy cavalier, and still have a $800 payoff amount. My record is clean, and I was recently quoted a lower insurance amount (not like that will make a difference). Here is the deal. I just recently got a promotion at work which will require me to travel much more. I need a new car (or at least no older than 2 years old). I have horrible credit (which I know makes me a high risk). I GET ALL OF THAT. But, I know that people still manage to work this kind of thing out. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get a loan for around $10k or so, and what I should do with my current car that I still have to pay off? I would appreciate any help!

Note: I do know my FICA score (which I don’t want to share), and have researched all of my credit information. Please be sensitive with your responses, I am not a naive, braindead sorority girl. I know what I am asking, and realize it is a difficult situation. So, please only give me genuine, helpful information. Thanks!
P.S. I am looking to pay NO MORE than $200 a month for a car payment. So, whatever I get as a loan MUST cover the new registration, taxes, etc., plus must keep my payments at or below $200 a month.

Thanks for any advise!
