My partner and I decided to buy together a home two years ago. He is unable to meet his financial obligations, and is considering to declare himself in bankruptcy. I can continue paying for my share, but definitely cannot pay for his. Is there any way I can escape from this loan without having a bad credit history? Any tips in how to avoid foreclosure or bankruptcy?

Should we wait until the court hearing is adjourned and our bankruptcy is done completely (this month)? We are facing more battles with my health as a result of, I believe, is a form of malpractice. However, I have heard that if a lawsuit is being filed, a bankruptcy cancels it out. I am not sure what my options are.
OK it is not a form it IS malpractice, for sure.

My wife was an employee of a coffee shop who was given a company credit card. The company filed bankruptcy and the card was part of the bankruptcy. Now the bank is coming after her to pay the card off. We received a letter stating that they were withdrawing $2K from our checking account to put towards the card. If the company receives some insurance money for that card, can they also try to get more money from her?

Does the judges ask you when you first started getting the debt?
Also does the judge ask you how come you have so much.

I have never had a credit card, mortgage or car loan. I have never filed bankruptcy. I have looked at my credit report and the majority of problems are medical bills. I also have some unpaid utility bills on there. I cannot even get a cell phone without a $300 deposit. Why do these things make my credit score terrible? I though CC’s and bankruptcies were the major problems. Can anyone explain?
