is the united states the only country that forgives debts through bankruptcy?

someone close to me is filing bankruptcy and i want to do all i can to help her feel better about it. i want to say at least in the u.s. there is a forgiveness type law, in other countries debts can’t be discharged. is this true? what other positives can i say to her to comfort?

I am tired of being controlled by a demagogue black hole(DC) that bleeds us with taxation, removes our freedoms, gets us into hostile offensive wars, and lies to us, accuses of us citizens of wrongdoing, and says it has solutions and never accomplishes anything they say they plan to do. Sounds like most of my relatives. Guess thats why we have the government like we do. Broken family, debt ridden, obese and disease ridden, addicts, criminal felons, and best yet a foxhole christian prayer warrior. Lets all break away into our bunkers and be on the watch.
