After having been wrongfully terminated August of last year, and being out of work for nearly 4 months with no income, my car was repossessed. On top of owing close to $15,000 for that, I owe for a cell phone bill, as well as 4 credit cards, one of which I got to help out while I was out of work. Are there any other options to get myself out of debt without spending years and more money than actually owed to avoid filing bankruptcy? Some of these credit cards have gone up 4 times the amount that was initially owed. One of my major concerns is that I was paying the payment protection plan and none of the companies honored it. I would have easily been able to pay my debt had they honored the payment protection plan. I could dispute that and get the amount owed down to the actual amount, but where does that leave me with paying off a car I don’t have? Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m only 26 and the last thing I want to do is file bankruptcy.
I’m furthering my education and do not wish to have such poor credit for the next 7 years. How will I be able to afford rent, a car, and paying this debt off while going to school?

My husband and I together have quite a bit of credit card debt that was managable until just recently with extra child support payments and decreases in salary. Has anyone ever consolidated their credit card debt? If so, how did it work? Did it make your payments considerably lower? And who did you use to consolidate? Any help would be great. Thank you!

he have around 10 000 $ of debts ( all credit cards)

I have two credit cards, the balance on the first card is $3,598.22 and the balance on the second card is $11,005.89. I want to transfer the balance on the first card to the second card but the credit limit on my second card is not enough to accomodate the balance on my first card. They just raised my credit limit a few months ago and I have a feeling that they would deny another increase. They would not let me talk to their credit department to explain my situation. What should I do? My credit is good. Any suggestions on how I should consolidate them and not pay too much monthly. I’m currently paying $400 on the first card and $200 on the second card.

Well my bills for my loans and credit cards are due again and I’m wondering do I still have to pay them since i already paid my lawyer and filled out all the paperwork for the chapter 7.
