I’m avoiding bankruptcy since I’ve worked so hard to maintain a good credit score. The issue is that the house is in another state and I can’t deal with it first hand. I have someone else looking after it but it’s not the same. Before hiring a lawyer, I just want to be sure of other alternatives. Thanks for your answers, any suggestions will be appreciated.

Mother opened several credit cards in my name without my approval. i had all removed but one and its capital one with a 4,500. dollar balance. its already in collection. i am trying to fight it but its difficult. score has dropped to a terrible 460 points due to what my mother did

when i apply for a car loan and a gas card i am refused.

is there anything else i can do to bring my points up while in dispute with capital one?

My credit score right now is 481. I have about 12k in unsecured loan that I want to consolidate in one and pay off as soon as possible. It just seems it will never happen since I have 6 places to pay a month. One of the places I will be paying off will be my car. Can I put that as collateral? …I dont want to keep applying to different places cause I know that affects banks that look at my credit. I am stressed and broke all the time! Any info will be helpful. I deperately need a new car and have no down payment. My credit score is 580 and I have been turned down by the majority of banks, except a few that were thru dealerships. Also, one lender (not a bank) who specialized in bad credit loans offered me a loan of $5k my payments would have been $500/month and the term 12 months! So needless to say I had to turn that down. I have worked hard on getting my credit fixed up, but I’ve done almost all I can do for the time being and nothing is instantaneous when it comes to my score. Right now I am waiting to hear back from a large dealership who transferred my application to their bad credit loans department and they sounded like it may be promising, but I know that the interest rate and terms may not be great. The car salesman told me that I might consider having a co-signer – but awhile back a loan officer told me that he thought co-signers were more for people who dont have enough credit, not those who have bad credit. By what I have heard, my score of 580 definately qualifies me for a bad credit loan, but I could still qualify for a better loan, but either way it would be high interest rates. What should I do? I have considered waiting, but I need a new car ASAP.
